Email Configuration - Entourage
Setting up Entourage
Click on 'Tools', you will then see a drop down menu.
Select 'Accounts'.
You will now see an accounts menu as shown below.
Choose 'Mail' followed by clicking on 'New'.
You will be prompted for your name.
Once completed click on 'Configure Account Manually'.
The new account will now display.
Select 'POP' as the account type and then click 'OK'.
Now you should see 'Edit Account'.
Personal Information
| Name: | Type in your display name which in most cases will be your name. |
| Email address: | Type in your email address. |
Receiving mail
| Account ID: | This is your user name which in most cases will be your full email address. |
| POP server: | See article on mail servers. |
| Password: | Your email password. |
Sending mail
Outgoing mail server, in most cases will be specified by your broadband provider.
Click ok to complete the setup.
Email Configuration - Mac Mail
MAC MAIL WARNING: DELETING AN EMAIL ACCOUNT WILL DELETE YOUR EMAILS FROM THIS PROGRAM
Click on the MAIL menu and select PREFERENCES.
Click on ACCOUNTS and you will see a + symbol on the bottom left.
Click on the plus + to add an account.
Account Type: POP
| Description: | Enter your email address. |
| Email Address: | Enter your email address. |
| Full Name: | Enter your name. |
| Incoming mail server: | This information will be provided from Firenet. Please see server details. |
| User Name: | Enter your full email address. |
| Password: | Enter the password for your email address |
After the above fields have completed you will need to setup your outgoing mail server.
Click on server settings to do so.
Your outgoing mail server will be provided by Firenet. Please see server details at end of this page.

Email Configuration - Microsoft Outlook 2000
Select 'Tools' from the menu then select 'Accounts'.
On the 'Mail' tab click 'Add' and select 'Mail'.
Enter the Display Name, this will appear when you send other users an email.
Enter your email address followed by 'Next'.
Select your incoming mail server as POP3.
- The incoming mail server will depend upon your email address. See server details.
- The outgoing mail server will depend upon the details you were given when registering the account. If you are unsure contact us at your earliest convenience.
- Click on 'Next' once completed.
*** Your account name and password are case sensitive. If they are incorrect you will encounter problems. ***
'Account name' will be your full email address.
Password will be your email password.
Click remember password box and leave the SPA box blank. Click 'Next'.
Setup should complete but in some cases you may be asked how you obtain an internet connection. If so see below.
- Connect using my phone line - If you obtain your connection using dialup.
- Connect using my local area network - If you obtain your connection using broadband.
- I will establish my Internet connection manually - Only for advanced users.

Email Configuration - Microsoft Outlook 2003
Select 'Tools' and go to 'Email Accounts'.
Within Email, check 'Add New Email Account' and click 'Next'.
E-mail account type, choose 'POP3' and click 'Next'.
You will come to the main setup screen 'Email Accounts'.
- User Information - Type in your name and email address
- Logon Information - These are case sensitive, once completed check 'Remember Password'.
- Server Information - Incoming mail server - This will depend upon your email address. See mail servers.
- Server Information - Outgoing in most cases will be specified by your broadband provider.
Finish by selecting 'Next' and 'Finish'.
Email Configuration - Microsoft Outlook 2007
Select 'Tools' from the main menu and select 'Account Settings'.
Under email tab select 'New'.
Please tick 'POP3' and click 'Next'.
Do not enter any information on this screen, simply tick the box 'Manually Configure Server Settings' and click 'Next'.
Select 'Internet Email', and click 'Next'.
User Information
- Type in your display name.
- Type in your email address.
Server Information
- Account Type should be POP3.
- Incoming mail server, See mail servers.
- Outgoing mail server, this will in most cases will be specified by your broadband provider.
Logon Information
- Your user name will be your full email address.
- Enter your email password.
- Check box 'Remember Password'
Should you wish to test out the account setting before finalising the setup this can be done by clicking 'Test Account Settings' and then finally followed by 'Next' and the setup has now been completed.
Email Configuration - Microsoft Outlook Express
Select 'Tools' from the main menu then select 'Accounts'.
On the 'Mail' tab click 'Add' and select 'Mail'.
Enter your 'Display Name', click 'Next'.
Enter your email address and click 'Next'.
Select your incoming mail server as POP3
- Incoming mail server - will depend on your email address. See mail servers.
- Outgoing in most cases will be specified by your broadband provider.

Your 'Account Name' will be your email address.
Click 'Remember Password' and not SPA.
Click on 'Next', followed by 'Finish' and the setup will now be complete.

Email Configuration - Windows Mail
Select 'Tools' from the main menu and select 'Accounts'.
Select 'Add'.
Select 'Email Account' and 'Next'.
Enter your 'Display Name' this will be how your email displays itself when you send an email. Click on 'Next'.
Enter your email address followed by 'Next'.
Select your incoming mail server as POP3
- Incoming mail server - will depend on your email address. See mail servers.
- The outgoing mail server in most cases will be specified by your broadband provider.
- There also is a tick box for 'Outgoing Mail Server Requires Authentication', this is checked if your mail provider or broadband provider requests you to do so. In most cases this will be unchecked.
Your username and password are case sensitive. If they are incorrect you will encounter mail problems. A Firenet username will be your email address. Click 'Remember Password' and click on 'Next'.
You will now see a 'Congratulations' screen and click on 'Finish'.

Email Configuration - Firenet Webmail
The aim of this article is to demonstrate how to connect to Webmail in order to view your mail from any location using your web browser.
Logging into webmail is very simple, all you need is your e-mail address and password as provided by ourselves.
First of all browse to our webpage: http://www.firenet.co.uk
On the right hand side of our home page, you will see a webmail login which looks like the following:
Please enter your e-mail address and password and click 'Login'.
You will now be logged into your webmail enabling you to send and receive your e-mails without using a mail client such as Microsoft Outlook etc.
How to FTP using Windows Explorer
The aim of this article is to demonstrate how to FTP to your web space using windows explorer on your Windows based computer.
First of all you will need your FTP details at hand, i.e. Username, Password, Host/IP. (If you are unsure of these details, please call us on 0870 9777 186 for assistance.)
Opening Windows Explorer:
To open Windows Explorer, press and hold the "Windows Key" on your keyboard and press the letter "E". You will see the following window:
In the "Address" bar at the top of the screen, please enter the following information making sure to change the username, password and host/ip to your own details:
- http://username:password@host/IP
For example:
| Username | frnt1234 | Password | pa55word | IP | 88.136.126.154 |
You would enter: http://frnt1234:pa55word@88.136.126.154
Now press "return" or click on "Go" at the right hand side of the address bar. You will now be logged into your web space:
Cannot see the Address Bar?
In the case that you are unable to see the address bar at the top of your screen, please click the "View" tab, go to "Toolbars" and make sure "Address Bar" is ticked. This is shown below:
FTP problems
A common cause of FTP problems (other than incorrect username, password or hostname) is Passive Mode FTP. If you do experience difficulties while using FTP software, disable Passive Mode and retry.
