Dial Up Configuration - Mac OS X
When setting up a dial up connection please ensure that you have a 56k dial up modem and it is connected directly into your phone socket.
Click on the 'Apple Menu', open 'System Preferences' and then select 'Network'.
On the configuration menu select 'Default' and choose the correct device from the menu. You will then be asked for the following details:
- Telephone number: This will depend upon your dial-up service. Example 0845 604 30 20.
- Account Name: This will depend upon your dial-up service. Example frn1234@firenet.uk.net
- Password: This will depend upon your dial-up service. Please contact us if you are in doubt.
- Finally click on the tick box 'Show Modem Status in Menu Bar', so it is easy to access.
Your dial up connection is now configured. You can find quick access to your dial-up account from your Apple menu.
